Born and raised in Shrewsbury, Kathy graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Northeastern University in 1989. Kathy has lived in Boston, Malden, Waltham, and Chicago and in 1997 she returned to her hometown of Shrewsbury. She earned her Real Estate license in 1998 and her Brokers license in 2000 and has been selling residential real estate ever since.
Kathy has been very involved in the Realtor Association and has served in various leadership roles throughout her career. She served as the 2022 President of the Real Estate Association of Central Massachusetts (RACM). In 2025 she was awarded the RACM Distinguished Service award and in 2019 she was named the RACM Realtor of the Year. Kathy currently serves on the Massachusetts Association of Realtors (MAR) Executive Committee, is chair of the Massachusetts Real Estate Community Alliance, serves on the MAR Government Affairs Committee and is a MAR State Political Coordinator (SPC). As an SPC she is assigned to a State Senator and State Representative to advocate for issues that impact home ownership. Kathy was honored to receive the MAR Private Property Rights Award in 2025. On the national level Kathy is on the National Association of Realtor (NAR) Board of Directors and serves on the NAR Housing Policy Committee. Of all the positions Kathy has held her favorite is being a Federal Political Coordinator (FPC). Nationwide a Realtor is assigned to each member of Congress and Kathy is one of 11 Realtors appointed in Massachusetts to protect personal property rights and to advocate for home ownership on the national level.
Kathy has worked towards many professional accreditations, she is an Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®), designated by the Real Estate Buyer’s Council of the National Association of REALTORS®. She is also GREEN Certified and has earned the Seller Representative Specialist (SRR®) and Real Estate Negotiation Expert (RENE) and Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation from the Real Estate Business Institute (REBI). Most recently Kathy earned her Certified Real Estate Specialist Cerification which will allow her to serve her clients in Real Estate Planning.
In her hometown of Shrewsbury Kathy serves as a Town Meeting Member and is a Commissioner on the Shrewsbury Housing Authority, both elected positions. Kathy and her husband Bob have 1 child, and a dog named Lanee.
What made you want to join Lamacchia Realty?
“I have been watching Anthony Lamacchia’s success and the success of a lot of Realtor friends and decided I needed to learn more. I spoke with a good friend, and she told me everything she loves about Lamacchia Realty and referred me to the Business Development Team. After hearing about the pre-listing services, the technical services, the admin support, and the marketing I was sold. I feel I am in a much better position to support my clients at a very high level.”
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
“I love to travel and try to plan a trip to a new place each year. I also enjoy entertaining, spending time with family, and am often the host for holiday dinners for 25+ guests. I am an avid reader and try to do the New York Times crossword puzzle each day. I am also involved in local politics serving as a Commission on the Shrewsbury Housing Authority and as a Town Meeting Member, both elected positions.”
Do you have a favorite charity?
“I am a Past President of the Rotary Club of Shrewsbury and a founding member of the Shrewsbury Rotary Foundation. I am a strong believer in the Rotary Motto “Service over Self” and work with my fellow Rotarians on local charitable endeavors. My Family are very strong supporters of the V Foundation. The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded by legendary Coach Jim Valvano with one goal in mind: to achieve Victory of Cancer. “
What is your favorite thing about your job?
I love meeting new people and in the Real Estate business, every day is different. It is impossible to get bored.”
Do you have any pets?
“We have always had Golden Retrievers, but two years ago we adopted a 7 year old Siberian Husky named Lanee. She is our first Husky and first female dog and she is such a love.”
What are your favorite sports, and sports teams?
“My father took me to my first Patriots game when I was 10 and I have been hooked ever since. I love the Patriots but will watch any football game, pro or college if the Pats aren’t on. I also love my trips to Fenway and the Garden and will occasionally take a road trip to see a game in a new stadium or ballpark.”
