Staff Star – John Remby

Lamacchia Realty has some of the best real estate agents in the state of Massachusetts.  They couldn’t be the best if they didn’t have the strong support from our inside staff which is why we started the Staff Stars series.  Our Staff Star interviews will highlight a new staff member that goes above and beyond for the company, the agents, and for our valued clients.  This time around the award goes to John Remby.

When did you start at Lamacchia Realty?

I first started working with Lamacchia as a consultant back in 2014 and then officially joined the company as an Employee in 2017. In total I’ve been working with the company for 6 years.

Describe your Role within the company:

My official Title is Business Systems Engineer, which is a fancy way of saying I’m responsible for our custom CRM built on the Salesforce Platform and all other software that integrates with it. I have the pleasure of supporting all our Agents and Staff on the platform, help in the documentation and training process, as well as, working with every department to constantly innovate on the system to improve the workflow of both Staff and Agents.

What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Spending time with family and friends. I also enjoy working on my house, slowly renovating each and every room.

What is your favorite project you have been a part of while at Lamacchia Realty?

Nearly impossible to choose. I’m very lucky, in that, my position allows me to work with every department and I get to learn all the various intricacies of the whole company and tie that into how the system works. It’s challenging and fun!

What is the most important part of your job?

In my opinion it’s to make the day-to-day work life of all our Staff and Agents better, easier and more productive. The whole company runs on the platform, so if I can answer a question, troubleshoot a problem, simplify a process, or automate something that was previously time consuming, hard or tedious, and make less work for the end-user that’s a great feeling.

How would you describe the culture at Lamacchia Realty?

It’s like someone read every business book on how to create a great company and then actually did it. A place where everyone is valued and appreciated, your opinion matters no matter your role, and you truly feel like everything you do day-to-day makes a difference.

What other places have you worked and what about Lamacchia Realty is different?

Several start-up companies tech companies including my own that I co-founded before joining Lamacchia. The ultimate differentiator is the culture and the people. Emphasis on the people. Take away the people and it isn’t a business, it’s just an idea or a product. The people are what make the company great.

If someone outside of the company asked you if they should join Lamacchia Realty, what information or advice would you give them?

Be prepared to work hard because we’re growing and that takes a lot of effort from everyone working together. Be a team player. And be prepared to stay, cause very few who join us ever leave.
