Westford is a residential town in Middlesex County about 45 minutes northwest of Boston and is close to routes 495 and 3. Forge Village in Westford is the location of many historic residential and commercial properties built during the Colonial to Modern periods. In 2002, the National Park Service placed Forge Village in Westford on the National Register of Historic Places. The population of Westford is 21,951.

What Makes Westford a Great Town to Live In?

Westford is home to the Nashoba Valley Ski Area where we will be for the On the Slopes segment with the newscasters from Fox 25 Morning News. Nashoba Valley Ski Area is a full-service ski area offering lessons, rentals, skiing, and snowboarding; it is also host to various activities throughout the year, including the Witch’s Woods Haunted Hayride during the month of October. Nashoba Valley Ski Area is now the largest snow-tubing park in New England.

In addition to Nashoba Valley Ski Area, there are plenty of other family activities to do in Westford. Children of all ages enjoy going to the Butterfly Place, an indoor garden with hundreds of free flying butterflies. Westford is also home to Kimball’s Farm, serving delicious homemade ice cream since 1939. Kimball’s has recently expanded and now offers mini-golf, bumper boats, batting cages, an arcade and more. The Roudenbush Community Center in Westford offers programs and services in education, entertainment, health and the arts as well as before and after school care for grade 1 through 5, and after school care for children in grades 6 and 7.

For outdoor recreation during the summer, residents have free access to two town beaches in Westford: Forge Pond, located in Forge Village, and Edwards Beach at Nabnasset Lake, which has a playground, volleyball area and picnic area.

There are many great restaurants in Westford including Belle’s Bistro, which serves new American cuisine including steak, seafood, fish and pasta dishes, home-made soups. and desserts. Residents also enjoy dining at Karma, which serves Asian fusion cuisine.

Westford is known for its excellent school system which includes Westford Academy for grades 9 through 12, Blanchard Middle School for grades 6 through 8, Abbot Elementary School, which serves grades 3 through 5, Nabnasset School, which serves grades K through 2nd, and Westford Integrated Preschool.
