What Makes Boxford a Great Town to Live In?
Boxford is has a total area of 24 square miles, making it the second largest town in Essex County. Boxford has kept its rural character by using a two-acre zoning and having virtually no commercial development. The town has numerous ponds and plenty of open green space for outdoor recreation.
Boxford State Forest consists of 1,000 acres used for hiking, horseback riding, and hunting. Stiles Pond in Boxford is a natural pond with a beach and offers clean fresh water swimming and a fun atmosphere for residents during the hot summer months.
In September, Boxford hosts its annual Apple Festival, the town’s largest social event and tradition for over 30 years. The Apple Festival features crafters from all over New England, tours of the historic 1760 Holyoke-French House, as well as food and music.

Far Corner Golf Course in Boxford is a 27-hole layout located on 250 acres and offers lessons for both children and adults. It has a new 3,700 square foot pro-shop and a Grille Room which offers sandwiches and wraps and has a large wrap around deck overlooking the golf course.
Boxford is home to West Village Provisions, a General Store and Eatery. The building was built in 1883 and specializes in local and organic food products, take-home dinners, groceries, seasonal items and more. The Boxford Community Store is another local hangout that serves as both a restaurant and general store. They offer daily specials and homemade soups.
For more than 50 years, Nason Stone House Farm in Boxford has been making delicious homemade chicken pies, brown bread, and baked beans. They have recently added cookies, pastries, and jams, and potato salad to their menu.
There are two elementary schools in Boxford, Harry Lee Cole School for grades K-2, and Spofford Pond School for grades3-6. Middle and High School students attend Masconomet Regional School.
