What makes Groveland a great town to live in?

Groveland is a relaxed, friendly town with plenty of green open spaces. Groveland is home of the Crane Pond Wildlife Management Area which is over 2000 square miles and has trails for mountain biking and cross-country skiing as well as picnic areas and places for horseback riding. You can go snowmobiling and ice fishing in the winter and hunting in the fall. Residents also enjoy the Pines Recreation area on Main Street which has basketball courts, baseball fields, facilities for cookouts, and access to the Merrimack River.

Every year in September the town celebrates Groveland Day, in commemoration of Groveland becoming incorporated as a town in 1850. There are carnival games, music, food, pony rides for the kids, crafts, and a 5K road race. There are several casual dining spots in town such as Pub 97, DeLeo’s Pizza, or the Groveland Diner for home style cooking.

Students in grades K-6 attend the Dr. Elmer S. Bagnall Elementary School, which is also the home of the Groveland Summer Recreation Program, a summer day camp that includes swimming, field trips, arts and crafts, and sports for children in grades 1 through 7. Older children attend the Pentucket Regional Middle and High Schools in nearby West Newbury.

The average home sale price in Groveland is $323,698 for a single-family home and $176,000 for a condo.

Hi,   I heard you’re coming to Groveland tomorrow and want to point out that the town set up a new dog park in the Pines Recreational area.  Groveland does not offer much in the way of parks and rec but I have to give them props for the dog park.    It’s a safe place to exercise dogs and I’ve met more neighbors in the time I’ve been going there than in the 14 years I’ve been living here.

Hope to stop by to meet you.

Michelle Duffy
