Paxton is a rural town in Worcester County, Massachusetts about 15 minutes from the City of Worcester, and just over an hour from Boston. Many long-time residents of Paxton describe their town as beautiful, safe, quiet, and friendly. As of the 2010 US Census, the population of Paxton was 4,806.
In July of 2015, the average annual selling price of a single-family home was $333,433. The average for a condo was $243,833, and interestingly enough, no multi-families have sold in Paxton in the last 12 months.
Moore State Park in Paxton offers something for everyone in terms of outdoor adventure. The 730-acre park has beautiful walking trails and waterfalls, opportunities to picnic, fish, hike, canoe, and cross-country ski.
Another outdoor activity enjoyed in Paxton is horseback riding. The Becker College Equestrian Center is located on 30 picturesque acres of land that abuts Moore State Park. It includes both an indoor riding arena and a large outdoor ring, offers boarding for horses, and lessons to the public.
Nearby Worcester offers many five-star restaurants and dining options to suit every taste, from fine dining to quick bites to eat. There is also a vibrant arts community and plenty of shopping within the surrounding towns.
Paxton Center School is for Paxton students Kindergarten through 8th grade. Grades 9 through 12 have the choice to attend Wachusett Regional High School in nearby Holden or Bay Path Vocational High School in Charlton.
