David was born in Ottawa, Canada and moved to the United States at the age of 5. He was raised in Massachusetts and has lived in Boston, Nashville, Orlando, Worcester, and just bought his first house in Barre, MA. He was married in a hot air balloon on leap day, learned to ride a bicycle at the age of 33, and endeavors to never stop learning and improving – journey before destination!
What made you want to join Lamacchia Realty?
“My wife and I bought our home through Lamacchia, and our agent recommended I look into an open position. When she described the role and the company, it sounded too good to be true. Every step of the way I’ve been told how great the work environment is, and now I can see for myself why – it’s the people.”
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
“I love reading and learning, so I typically have one book going at home and an audiobook for when I am driving or working around the house, mostly fiction, history, and philosophy. I enjoy discovering new music, exploring nature, and generally pushing myself out of my comfort zone. Two years ago my wife taught me how to ride a bicycle, and now in good weather my primary hobby is riding Massachusetts’ delightful rail trails.”
Do you have a favorite charity?
“I support the SPCA, Wikipedia, and my local library.”
What is your favorite thing about your job?
“Being surrounded by a capable, focused team is refreshing. Being part of that team is fantastic! My favorite thing about my job is being supported and enabled in my role, and as such feeling like I have agency over my own success.”
Do you have any pets?
“I have one cat, a Bengal named Doodad, who really just wants to be a part of everything. She quietly sits in a chair when we have dinner and fills in lulls in the conversation.”
What are your favorite sports, and sports teams?
I feel like I’m admitting to a cardinal sin living in New England, but I am not really interested in sports!
