The racial make up of the town is around 85% white, 6% Black or African American, 6% Hispanic or Latino, 3.5% Asian and the rest identified as two more more races or other. Ayer is home to a diverse ethnic and racial population. Besides English, the other important languages spoken in the town are French and Portuguese.
